BCSC Juniors – First Winter Sail with SW Tera Academy

A BIG well done has to go out to our juniors Faye, Sarah, Alex, Aki and Mati who today (22/10/16) attended their first winter meeting with the South West Tera Academy. Todays venue was Paignton Sailing Club and what was originally planned as a gentle introduction to their winter training, was really straight in at the deep end with 15kt easterly winds and one metre swells. They all sailed really well in very challenging conditions.

A total of 50 juniors took part, all coming from clubs throughout Devon. With 50 sailors, 50 boats, trailers, parents, 8 safety boats, crew and instructors, Paignton quayside was rather busy!

Over the winter the juniors will be sailing at Dartmouth, Weymouth, Sutton Bingham, Paignton again and maybe Babbacombe!
