Level 2 – Close quarters boat handling, high speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations. At the end of the course you will be able to  handle a powerboat in familiar waters by day.

RYA Safety Boat (Part of Syllabus)

We offer this course to members who have completed RYA Powerboat Levels 1 and 2. We  concentrate on techniques where we can  to provide on water support and safety to our dinghy sailors.

RYA First Aid

This short course covers all the usual first aid subjects, but from a boating perspective. It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat but is ideal also for our beachmasters. Key goals – the recovery position in a confined space. CPR, including the drowning protocol. Cold shock and hypothermia from immersion and/or exposure.  Seasickness and dehydration. Medical assistance or advice by VHF.

Club Race Officer

We are always needing Race Officers who help run our sailing sessions. If you are already RYA Powerboat level 1 & 2 qualified then we will provide training to help you become a race officer. We would cover: wind direction, course setting, risk assessment, time keeping, boat and sailor safety.

VHF Radio Usage

All our safety boats, beachmasters, and instructors carry VHF radios and training will be given on how to correctly operate one.
