This week @ BCSC

What a busy week we’ve had at Babbacombe!

Guy with his team of instructors & volunteers have been busy out on the water with lots of training taking place. On Monday and Tuesday, three new Powerboat Levels 2’s qualified. Congratulations to Matt, Henry and Nick – hopefully we will be seeing them out on the safety boats very soon.

Yesterday was the final day of a series of RYA 1&2 Dinghy Sailing sessions. Many congratulations to seven new sailors – Sam, Jim, Mark, John, Matt, Paul and Roger. They had good weather throughout and all out yesterday in single handers, racing round the course. Well done. Nice pic in the gallery

Busy week in the top clubhouse with last night being our “At Home” where local sailing clubs come over to Babbacombe for a social evening. Thank you for all the donations of food for the buffet – think we laid on a pretty good spread! Special thanks to Karin, Kate & Suzzette for running the kitchen and keeping the buffet stocked. (Sorry if I missed any names)

This Week – Bottom Clubhouse.

• Tuesday 1st May 5.30pm – Evening sailing – Trophy Race. Sailing suppers available in the top clubhouse.
• Saturday 5th May – Push The Boat Out Day – Help spread the word. Perfect time to bring your friends down for a taster session. Booking required. More info.
• Sunday 6th May  9.30am – Club Sailing 

Racing is never too serious at Babbacombe, so anyone whatever level can go out and sail. If you don’t want to race and just want a leisurely sail around the course then this is welcome.

This Week – Top Clubhouse.

• Tuesday 1st May – Sailing Suppers –  Clubhouse open as normal. Sailing suppers after Tuesday Night Sailing.
• Wednesday 2nd May 8.00pm – Music Night. Coldplay on the Big Screen.
• Thursday 3rd May 8.30pm – Quiz Night. Come along and test your knowledge in our weekly quiz.
• Friday 4th May 10am – 3pm  – Monthly Fayre. Also, between 8.30pm – 10.00pm we have our weekly members draw. You have to be there to win it, so please come up and see if you are a winner.
• Saturday 5th May 8.00pm – Film Night. We will be playing a musical on the Big Screen.
