This Week at Babbacombe SC

Another busy week at BCSC. Guy and his team of volunteers have been busy bringing some new members through their RYA 1 and 2. Congratulations today to Adam Parkes on his Level 2. Hope to see you out on the water soon.

Unfortunately the evenings are now starting to draw in and our Tuesday and Friday night sessions will soon be coming to an end. We only have two Friday social and improver sessions left and Tuesdays will finish with our Twilight Trophy Race on September 11th. Don’t miss out so please support the last few evening sessions!

The show still goes on with Sunday sailing right to the end of September with a possibility to extend the season as far beyond as interest, volunteers and weather allows. More on this soon!

BCSC would not exist if it was not for the volunteers who give so much time on and off the water. So many people have helped this year which we are incredibly grateful for. If it was not for our safety boaters, race officers, beach masters or registration we would not be able to go sailing. Again if it was not for our volunteer instructors, new sailors would not be able to learn and become active members of our club. The Top Clubhouse would not be able to open if it was not for volunteer bar staff and those special events we have twice a month would not happen without our dedicated social committee and team. If you would like to help out please ask as we are always looking for more people to ease the load. This can be on-water, beach or top clubhouse. Pulling a few pints for a couple of hours would be a big help for our Rear Commodore and a great way to make new friends.

Tickets for our Farmers Supper on Saturday 1st September are selling fast so please get yours from the bar if you are planning on coming. Another key date is our Picnic Cruise on Sunday 2nd September. Open to all our members. Click the banner below for more information.

Thursday 23rd August– 8.30pm – Quiz Night – Come and test your knowledge in our fun weekly quiz.
Friday 24th August – 8.30pm onwards we have our weekly members draw. You have to be there to win it, so please come up and see if you are a winner.
Saturday 25th August – Jan’s Birthday Party. Open to all members so please come up and celebrate with Jan her 60th Birthday.
