Barts Bash Coming To BCSC

Be part of the largest sailing event in the world!

Barts Bash is coming to Babbacombe on Sunday 17th September and all our sailors can compete against the worlds best in this annual handicapped race. Please get involved and support this worthwhile event. 

All proceeds and donations go direct to the Andrew Simpson Foundation.

Turn up as normal 9.30am, Sunday 17th. Weather currently looks ideal.

About Barts Bash:-

‘Bart’s Bash, launched in 2014, is the world’s largest sailing event that is run by sailing clubs, community sailing programmes, sail training centres, yacht clubs, scout groups, sea cadets and even groups of sailors, all around the world.

The main aims of the event are to increase international awareness of participation in sailing, and to raise funds for the Foundation to help support a range of sustainable projects, using sailing to improve the lives of children and young people globally.

The first Bart’s Bash inspired over 700 sailing clubs from more than 60 different countries to take part in their own individual Bart’s Bash race at their location, helping to encourage more people to get on the water and enjoy a day’s racing. In January 2015, Bart’s Bash was awarded a Guinness World Record for staging the largest sailing race in 24 hours.’ (Barts Bash Website)
