Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club First Annual Garden Show

On the 4th September 2010 the club will be holding its very first Garden Show where are humungous prizes to be given away in categories including vegetables, flowers and cookery.. There will also be a set of separate categories in two classes for children and teenagers.

This is by way of an advanced notice so you can get planning and planting nice and early in the season. See full article (link below) for categories and rules.

Classes

Vegetables

  1. Heaviest Carrot
  2. Heaviest Cucumber
  3. Heaviest Onion
  4. Longest Carrot
  5. Longest Cucumber
  6. Longest Runner Bean
  7. Three Globes of Beetroot
  8. Six Pods of Runner Beans
  9. Four Potatoes
  10. Six Tomatoes – Round Red – NOT beefsteak or cherry tomatoes
  11. Chilli Plant, any variety, in fruit
  12. Any 4 vegetables not mentioned in the classes above (4 different ones)
  13. Best Mis-shape/Comic Vegetable.

Flowers

F1 One Vase of Three Dahlia Blooms
F2 One Vase of One Rose Bloom (Not miniatures)
F3 One Pelargonium (Geranium) Pot Plant in Flower

Children And Teenagers (Under 18 Yrs) (2 Classes: Up to 10 yrs, 11 to 17 yrs)

C1 Miniature Garden, displayed in a seed tray
C2 An Animal made from Fruit and/or Vegetables
C3 Computer Generated Garden Design, Max Size A4

Cookery

K1 A Round of Shortbread, presented on a board
K2 An Apple Tart, presented on a plate
K3 1lb Jar (or equivalent) of Chutney. Any variety
K4 Fruit Cake (recipe will be available shortly)
